Seamus Riley, USA

Seamus Riley received a Productiveness Grant to fuel his continuing effort to expand his knowledge and improve his skills.

Seamus is a Fellow at the Objective Standard Institute (OSI), where he focuses on the intersection of lifestyle, psychology, and the philosophical ideas that shape human well-being. With a mind equally attuned to precision and creativity, Seamus explores how rational principles can guide personal development, emotional resilience, and the pursuit of a flourishing life.

He holds an associate degree in architectural technology and currently works as a hospital architecture designer at SmithGroup, where he contributes to creating environments that support healing, efficiency, and human-centered care. His architectural training informs his intellectual work: Seamus approaches psychology and lifestyle design the same way he approaches a building—by identifying foundational structures, removing the flaws, and crafting spaces where people can thrive.

Although he began his life with strong conservative leanings, Seamus has since undergone a philosophical evolution and is now a sponsoring member of ProjectLiberal. His journey reflects a deep commitment to examining ideas honestly, following evidence where it leads, and continually refining his values in pursuit of truth and personal growth.

Outside of his professional and intellectual pursuits, Seamus brings a lively and hands-on spirit to everything he does. His hobbies include singing, swing dancing, and building with power tools—a combination that speaks to both his artistic and practical sides. He also enjoys connecting with kindred spirits on Discord, where he engages in thoughtful conversations about life, ideas, and self-improvement.

You can find his creative work on YouTube, his candid opinions on X, and—as he puts it—“his body and soul at his desk,” building both structures and ideas that aim at human flourishing.
